Richard Ingram

Richard is an experienced CEO in Aerospace and Industrial business with a strong track record of returning business to profitable growth via operational improvement, now working in Private equity.

Excellent leadership skills and strong multilingual communication ability, having lived and worked in France, Germany and the UK. Board member and advisor, Richard is currently a  managing director in Brookfield’s Private Equity Group, and prior to joining Brookfield in 2019, he held various senior positions including CEO of Smith Detection, CEO of Zodiac Aerospace Electrical systems, and leadership roles at United Technologies and Goodrich

John Behrendt

John worked for Eight Roads in an advisory capacity and as Head of Portfolio Management with companies spanning healthcare, technology and renewable energies.

With a background in finance, the majority of Johns career has been spent in the tech sector where he has operated in CEO, COO and CFO positions.

He has successfully exited two venture-backed fabless chip businesses; Alphamosaic Limited in 2004 and Frontier Silicon Limited in 2012.

Alex Hammacher

Alex joined Oxford Science Enterprises in October 2019, bringing over two decades of clinical medicine and corporate finance experience.

Alex is responsible for major corporate finance activities at OSE and its later stage companies, including public market transactions, acquisitions and exits. He also manages OSE’s Investment Committee, and leads long-term strategic planning.

Alex began his career as a junior doctor in Oxford before joining investment banking in 2007. He has raised equity and debt capital for both private and public companies, and advised on local and cross-border M&A and partnerships whilst at UBS and Lazard in Europe, US and Australia-Pacific. His experience includes both large cap pharma and medtech, early-stage biotech and digital health, as well as cleantech, utilities and infrastructure.

Alex holds degrees in medicine & surgery and physiological sciences from the University of Oxford.

Justin Simpson

Justin is a Director in the Group Investment Office at B-FLEXION, having joined the firm in 2013. In his current role, he is involved in the investment of direct, principal capital across a range of sectors and stages, as well as overseeing a range of the firm’s investments. Justin has been involved with Evolito since the company’s formation in 2021 supporting the provision of capital for the aerospace IP spin out from YASA.

Prior to joining B-FLEXION, Justin started his career with KPMG, followed by Santander. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Corporate Finance and Statistics from the University of Cape Town. He has volunteered for several years with Harvard University’s Innovation Lab, serving as a judge for ventures in the annual President’s Innovation Challenge, a competition that identifies and rewards the most promising ventures from across all university schools.
